This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri took Bob out for a little bit yesterday, to distract him from his rib pain.  They went to their favorite park. Sheri was trying to make conversation so she said "look at all the beautiful colors in the sky, it looks like a painting." Bob studied the sky with obvious deep thought and then "Al" replied "yes, but they must have only been able to paint a small section at a time. :)

  1. As I read this post I feel great understanding for Bob as a person and as a person with Alzhimers. I can only imagine all of the love you have for him, the way you write about Bob is beautiful.
