This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri took Bob out to the Arboretum yesterday. Bob was walking with slow short steps with his head down so Sheri asked him if he was okay. "Al" with his thumb in Bob's belt loop stretching out Bob's back in his usual way replied "Well, they really should fix these broken tiles it is very hard not to walk on them ." Sheri, looking down at the tiles thought to herself ," yes that will be hard to avoid and this is going to be a long trip today... because they are not broken tiles, they are cobblestone." :)
