This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

As "Al" struggles with simple basic life tasks, Sheri misses Bob the build anything, fix anything, man that built shelves from floor to ceiling to support all of Sheri's shall we say creativity. Bob never complained about her "creativity" obsession (code for to much craft stuff), so it is Sheri's turn to deal with Bob and "Al's" hand slapping, "Al's" version of "creativity obsession".  :)

  1. My "Al" was never able to build shelves but he does continually try to "fix" things...especially family problems. I admire your patience. Don't you ever want to just get in the car and scream?
