This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

"Al" the kind soul that he is , loves his present, the medical ID bracelet that Sheri got him. The only issue Bob has (other than he never wore any kind of jewelry) is that the bracelet slides down on his hand which is really bothering "them". So much so "they" are obsessed with trying to get it to stay in place. Bob was a problem solver, fixing things and solving problems is what he did. So Sheri should not have been surprised to see that Bob came up with his own solution to the bracelet problem, "Al" looped the bracelet over the button and buttoned  the button to hold the bracelet in place. Foiled by a button yet again :)

      Yes it is so different for everyone! He can do that ... but not find the bathroom!
