This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Three day weekends are hard for Sheri. Eventually yesterday, she just put Bob and "Al" in the car and drove around for hours. Bob was content just sitting but "Al" chatted non stop about everything he had done. Yesterday we added building the retainer walls on the highway, and painting all the reflector dots on the roads, to his resume. He did them all by hand in just a day or two. It must be very hard to be looking for who you are, when you don't know who you were.

  1. I came across your blog last month and been reading it since. I've been studying about Alzheimer since last year and I was hooked, determine to help people know about this disease. I would like to share with you this videinfographic http://www.pulseuniform.com/community/alzheimer-disease.asp providing clearer and brief explanation about Alzheimer. It's good to use as a tool in awakening the awareness of people about this disease.
