This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri knows Bob has been in a pretty strong downward slide cognitively recently. When they were at church yesterday and the Communion plate of crackers came to him,"Al" just stared at it and then looked at Sheri clearly not sure what to do with it. So Sheri took the cracker and gave it to him, which "Al" promptly popped in his mouth without waiting for Pastor to lead through the Communion Prayer. Sheri is sure God does not care about the cracker, but Sheri's heart sank just a little deeper. Such subtle changes.

Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
