This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri was surprised to find out that Bob sang with Bill Gaither on stage one year, (Bill did not mind sharing the stage at all according to "Al") and that Ireland only has one main street.
That resume just keeps growing :)

Knowing my mother (and her sister) used to listen to the WLS Barn Dance while they milked cows, I looked up the de Zurik sisters on the internet and played their singing for her. Oh! My! Goodness! She was intrigued for at least an hour - and I'm sure I can play it again tomorrow for her and it will be just as intriguing!
