This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is very thankful that Bob's back procedure went well. Sheri was also very grateful that the nurses were willing to listen to Sheri in regards to how best to get "Al" to understand what they needed him to to do. Both visits there were handled wonderfully by their staff.
Unfortunately, this time Bob's pain has not been quite as manageable, and Sheri has needed to give him some of the stronger pain medicine. She is just grateful she has this weekend to help him through it before a new work week begins. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

  1. ♥ I prayed for you and Bob after reading of Bob/Al's pain. Praying you can grab some rest when he is quiet. Leave the unessential undone and take care of yourself the best you can.

  2. Yay!! Glad it went well. And I am so glad the staff were willing to listen. My Bob recently had an eye appointment and for the life of me I could not get them to understand that Bob didnt understand what they wanted him to do. Its very frustrating! Hope "your Bob" has a short healing time and the procedures give him much relief!
