This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri actually overheard Bob giving direction and support to a new co-worker at his work ( code for Adult Day Center) yesterday. To be honest... Sheri really wants to know what kind of job "Al" thinks he has there. Not that it matters of course, she is just curious that's all :)

  1. Curious. THAT is the word I use to describe MySelf. It is at the bottom of my concern and fuels EVERY visit (3-4) a week to be with mother in her residential memory unit. (I live about an hour away and this is my current limit due to recovering from a fall and hip replacement surgery. I visit with activities in tow. Two or three of them to have alternatives to match her state of mind. Lately, she REALLY enjoys looking at photos of her family of origin which I've put on my computer. We could do this every day for the entire time. It's always like the "first" time.....
