This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

The doctors have told Sheri that people with Bob's degree of cognitive impairment are not usually as mobile as he is. Although he is in pain all of the time he still gets around with his cane. Which is why he is hard to keep out of trouble. Yesterday morning Sheri handed Bob his medication and turned around to put the medication away. Sheri caught "Al" just in time as he took a glass that was full of dirty soapy water out of the kitchen sink, to take his medication with.   :(
Oh my...
