This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri tried something new last night, her small group bible study couples suggested an event with the purpose of letting Sheri have a break from Bob and "Al". They separated into the men and the women, and the ladies went out to dinner and the men agreed to have Bob and "Al" with them, under their watchful eye for a barbecue. Bob was apprehensive about the whole thing and Sheri waited to the last minute to tell him about the split. But it was very nice to have some adult time away from Bob and "Al". When they left, Bob told Sheri he had been worried about being with the guys and wasn't sure how it was going to go, but that he really enjoyed being with them. He said a couple of the guys were real cut ups, but not to worry because he got in a few good ones of his own. :)
Sheri is very blessed to have such caring friends.

Colossians 3:12-14 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
