This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Subtle changes are starting to concern Sheri. Bob has always been a very sound sleeper. He rarely gets up at night and when he does he has been able to follow the lights to the bathroom. The last several nights Sheri  has woken up to him wandering around the bedroom, and when Sheri asks what he is doing, "Al" replied "going to the bathroom" Sheri gave him verbal direction the first night, but last night she had to get up and take him there. Sheri knew this time would come, and it is better than the alternative... but Sheri still works full time, and the fact that Bob and "Al" were good sleepers was a huge blessing. Sheri is going to need a new plan.

Isaiah 40:31

but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint.
