This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Bob and "Al" are sharing space
"Al's" thoughts are showing on Bob's face.

Bob wants to mow the lawn today
"Al"'s confused, can't find his way.

Bob want to do things, like clean out the garage
But "Al" is living in a heavy fog.

Bob is tired and wants to sleep
"Al" is moaning confused thoughts, that run deep.

2 Corinthians 4.16

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
