This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has been learning some new photography styles. Bob and "Al" go to bed very early so Sheri sit in bed and watches u-tube videos on photography. One of the most recent styles uses out of focus lights. So Sheri dug out the x-mas lights to use. She asked Bob to help her remove the multi-colored lights, and sort the bulbs by color. Sheri thought she had made the "plan" as simple as possible. She gave him a zip lock bag for each color. These were the big c-9 bulbs and he just needed to take the bulb out and put it in the bag. It started out okay, but Sheri went into the kitchen to get Bob some coffee and when she got back "Al" was putting the putting the bulbs back into the strand he had just taken them out of. So needless to say this was a very long project but it kept Bob and "Al" busy for hours.  :)

  1. Sounds like a successful project to me! Can Al follow the complete list that you posted the other day?

I find that he either forgets the list is there, or does a couple of things, then he thinks he has done them all.

I am so glad it works for you!

Your pictures are amazing. They bring a sense of joy and peace to me. Sue
