This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri ventured out to St. Paul yesterday. She took Bob and "Al" to the Como Park Conservatory to see the Winter Flower display. The frozen tundra is making her stir crazy and very impatient for Spring. The trip went rather smoothly. Sheri did her best to ignore "Al"s inability to understand road signs and his chatter about having walked every street and neighborhood passing out flyers (Sheri just does not get that story.)  Bob's back and knee were very bad so she had to use the wheel chair, there were a few kind folks that held doors for her, others where not quite so kind, but all in all she survived the trip and  it gave her a chance to take some photos too.  :)
