This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri actually scheduled some time to do something by herself, it is not even an over night thing just weekend days. It is 6 months away, and Sheri is already worrying about Bob and "Al". This is a crazy disease, and it makes caregivers even crazier. Sheri needs to remember what she has heard and read over and over. That caregivers need to take time for themselves, and not feel guilty about it. She is 5 years in this Alzheimer journey and this will be the first time she has done something like this. She just needs to get over the worry... or it will be a long 6 months.  :)

  1. Understanding the causes of Alzheimer's is vital if we are to find a way of stopping the disease in its tracks.
