This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had quite a head ache last night so she tried to direct Bob to get his pajamas out of the dryer. Bob paused with his thumb in his belt loop stretching out his back in his usual way, leaning to one side. By his face Sheri could tell he was confused. Sheri said "Do you know where the dryer is?" Bob replied " Oh I am sure I can figure out ." Sheri thought to herself "well it is worth a shot." Sheri saw Bob standing in the hall so Sheri yelled "turn right", the dryer was running and was about 8 steps from where Bob was, so she thought the sound might draw him to it. "Al" was gone for a minute or two. Sheri sitting on the couch holding her head with the ache, thinks "ah, good he found it." "Al" emerges back in the living room  hands clasped in front of him, and says," Is it in the bedroom? I looked and did not see it." Sheri starts to get up knowing she is better off just getting them herself. Bob says "just tell me where to go and I will find it."
Heavy sigh... been there done that... : (
