This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character"Al" that I created in 2008 represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri had a jolt of an experience yesterday morning. She got up, hugged the cat, got her coffee and wrote her blog. Then while finishing her second cup of coffee she got very dizzy. Very unusual for her. She called daughter number one ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) to see if she could come and take Bob and "Al" to work because she was afraid to drive, and called into work to let them know she would be late. While waiting for daughter number one to arrive Sheri noticed some coffee grounds in the bottom of her coffee cup. Sheri went and looked in the coffee pot and surprise.. Bob and "Al" when setting the coffee the night before filled the coffee filter to the brim with coffee, so about 1 and 1/2 cups of coffee instead the usual 5 tablespoons. Now Sheri loves her coffee, but that was a little too much caffeine, even for Sheri.  :)

  1. Wow! Glad it wasn't serious!

  2. Yikes - I’m glad you are okay. Maybe it’s time to lock up the coffee maker…who knows what could get into it…
