This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri thinks it sad that when she actually gets a little time to chat with a friend without Bob with her, she STILL winds up talking about "Al". She guesses it is because when Alzheimer's overtakes your life, it is like speaking about raising a difficult child. Sheri is very grateful though for a few hours with a dear, very understanding friend, and daughter number 1 who was willing and able to keep her father company so Sheri could get a breath of fresh air. :)

Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.

  1. I am so glad you got to get out. It is nice to be able to talk about what is really going on in our lives with close friends...it would have seemed superficial to do otherwise. Thinking of you in 2013--Janice in San Dieego
