This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Sheri took the day off work to take Bob to 3 doctor's appointments yesterday. On their first stop at the local urgent care to check out the worsening cough that Bob has, the nurse asked him to put a face mask on so he did not spread the germs around. "Al" looked very up set and asked Sheri again why he had to wear the mask, and with great objection put it on, (well over his mouth but not his nose). They waited patiently and then Bob retorted "Why am I the only in the room who has to where this mask thing?" Sheri replied because you are the one who is sick. "Al" with frustration in his voice, mumbled under his breathe "well. I can fix that..." :)
