This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

A few nights ago, Sheri and Bob were invited to a very dear friends house for dinner. They were kind enough to replace a side mirror that was broken on Sheri's car. They were there for several hours, and the minute they backed out of the drive way and got on to the street, "Al" turned to Sheri and said "I hope it is not a long drive home because I have to go to the bathroom really bad." Sheri replied "Why didn't you say something while we were there? They have a bathroom." "Al" replied "Oh I wasn't sure."
Sheri usually asks him every now and then when they are out and about, she hates it when she realizes she hasn't kept up with his basic needs. :(
