This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"
Bob has been singing with the choir at "work" ( code for Adult Day Center). He has a solo in the next performance, 3 or 4 lines, he is very nervous and very excited. Bob has never been one to draw attention to himself, definitely the strong silent type. Last night however, Bob and Sheri were watching American Idol, Bob is drying dishes and stops, puts his finger in his belt loop leaning to one side while stretching out his back in his usual way and in all seriousness says to Sheri and daughter number 2, may be I should be on that show.... they always want me to sing at "work" now. "Al" is definitely bringing Bob out of his shell. :)
