This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is a little confused, she thinks in some strange way she actually likes a few of "Al's" traits better then Bob's. Bob rarely laughed, or smiled, he barely even spoke. Traits that always were a struggle for Sheri in their relationship. "Al" however seems quite happy. He is talking more now then ever before, and even if it is the same thing over and over, and over again (which it is) Sheri is learning how to respond without such frustration. Maybe she is just learning to accept the changes, realizing she has no control...  But then again, she has never really been in control now  has she?

John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”
