This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

In Sheri's never ending quest to find something for Bob and "Al" to do while she is doing other things, she gave Bob a container of loose change to sort. She gave him 4 plastic ziplock bags and said " why don't you sort them into each bag, pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters." "Al" dumped them on the bed and rifled through the pile. After a few minutes "Al", scratching Bob's head,  turned to Sheri and said " um... I wonder which ones are the quarters... are all the quarters the same size? "
Oh my, Sheri thought to herself, this might take little longer then I thought.  :(
