Sheri has been sick for several days now. She knows it is probably because of the stress she had been under. The move ( that the tail end of which, still needs to be finished) the new job, all of the legal stuff with the foreclosure. She is hoping things will settle down. She has been thinking allot lately of the man that Bob was before "Al" moved in. He was a very strong, capable , gentle man. That is the man she wants her daughters to remember. It is the man she would prefer to remember as well. That man, in his gentle way, would have told Sheri to rest and ask if she needed anything. "Al" asked Sheri that this morning as well, but what she needs "Al" can't give her.
She needs Bob back.
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Strong, capable and gentle...yes, I knew that Bob before he was a man. That's still the way I see him in my mind's eye. I'm not sure how long I can continue to visit and hear what is happening to that Bob, to you and to the kids. If I feel this way, I can only imagine how you feel.
