This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is very grateful for daughter number 1 ( the one who wears her heart on her sleeve) and daughter number 2 ( the one who shields her heart with her sleeve). They have both grown in to such sensitive caring young women. They have good hearts and good heads. They have held Sheri up at times when Sheri has wondered how to make it through the day. Having a father with Alzheimer's as teenagers and now as young women is a very difficult thing. Sheri loves them very much and  is very proud of them.

  1. Thrilled your daughters are there to support you! It must be so tough for them to have this happen at such a young age. God bless you all.

Sheri my dad scored 17 out of the 30 questions at the doctor. He didn't even know he was at a doctor's office. Didn't know where he was born. Such a sad sad disease. I hope my mom follows through with the rest of the evaluation for him. I know she is frightened and so hard for her to handle. No diagnosis yet but I don't think there is any question that there is something wrong.

    Take care of yourself. Karen

  2. Karen,
I am so glad to hear that your Mom took the first step in the evaluation process it is a very scary thing. Hopefully you will have some answers that will help your Mom and your Dad.
    You are in my prayers,
    Sheri
