This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob was very upset last night. He did not want to eat dinner because he said he needed to go on a diet. (Bob is 6'4 and has never weighed more than 189 pounds). "Al" said they took is vitals at work and that he weighed 286 pounds. Sheri assured him that could not be right, but he kept insisting that she was wrong. Finally Sheri got the scale from under the bed and brought it out to the living room and told Bob to step on. The scale read 183. "Al" looked at Sheri and said "oh" and without a moments hesitation,  proceeded to the kitchen to eat to 2 bagels some chips and huge bowl of ice cream. At least he did not ask Sheri why they were taking his vitals at "work". :)
