This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

When Sheri brought Bob and "Al" home from the nursing home a few days ago, they walked into the house
Bob immediately wanted to do something in the house that needed to be done. So Sheri said, "well you could clean the cat box for me". A job that has always been Bob's. "Okay" replied Bob. A few minutes later Sheri sees "Al" in the family room look around the fireplace. Sheri says  "Bob whats the matter?", "Al' replies
"Where is the cat box?" Ah yes... "they" are back home. :)

  1. I have been reading your posts with great interest and making connections to that part of my mom that reflects Alzheimer's sharing her body and her mind. Thank you for your words.
