This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and Al :)

Sheri thinks this life is much like a Abbot and Costello show
The weather forecast for tomorrow and Friday
is for -25 to -30 degrees below zero
in this wonderful frozen tundra we live in.
So as Bob is changing the garbage bag,
he notices a draft from around the door
Bob says to Sheri " I better go see if I can find some foam
to put around the door frame, we have quite the wind coming in from there"
Bob goes to the garage to look, "Al" comes back 5 minutes later
goes to the garbage to throw away a piece of paper, and with new revelation states loudly
" Oh Sheri! Come feel the wind blowing through here! I better go to the garage and find some foam!"
Sheri just smiles "Great idea Bob!"
Well, at least this will keep him busy for a while!

    I watched an NCIS show the other night. = The character suffering from AD says"I can't remember who I was." He so captured one of the great daily challenges, because we still remember.

    It is so important to see the humor. I used to say I have to laugh or I would drown in tears. Here is to joyful living. For someone with AD each minute is brand new.
