This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri feels quite overwhelmed and alone today
Her new job is great, but transition is always hard
Bob was home with daughter number 2 yesterday
Sheri had Bob and "Al" sort two boxes of gloves
(yes two, this is the very frozen tundra -30 today)
while she was gone, she doesn't know how long that took,
But daughter number 2 says he did not enjoy that
Sheri could tell the day was long from "them"
His knee was causing a lot of pain, and he looked disoriented
She is worried about all of the changes in their life
Sheri chatted with God about her concerns all the way to St. Paul
Sheri just couldn't tell if God was listening...

    One of the things I used to give my Mother to keep her "entertained" was a box (small shoe box size) full of coins. She would spend lots of time sorting and stacking etc.
    Just a thought.
