This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri does not even know what it is that Bob and "Al"
can do anymore.
Sheri is trying to sort stuff at her house,
(it is inevitable that at some point they will need to move
the house is falling apart at the seams.)
There are some boxes that just need to to be broken
down collapsed. Sheri thinks okay this something for Bob.
Sheri shows him the stack of boxes, shows him how to collapse
the box.
One box has tape on it, Bob starts taking the tape off, starts to collapse it
By the time Bob has it collapsed, "Al" rebuilds it and puts it back on the pile.
Just that fast "Al' has lost track of the goal...
This is "their" life.

  1. This sounds familiar. Thinking of you today. Hope you have some peace in the midst of the frustration.
