This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Today daughter number 1 calls
frantic, her car is overheating, smoking
and something smells like it is burning
Not a good thing, and the fact that the
heat index is 103 in Minnesota with no car
Ac is not great either...
She gets the car to Sheri and Bob's house
Sheri is not quite sure what to do
Bob decides he can help
As "Al "starts to pour windshield washer fluid
into the radiator overflow container thingy
Sheri says Bob I don't think that goes there
"Oh right" Bob says
Sheri says "We should check the radiator" as she
walks away to get a rag, Bob yells never mind it is full"
Sheri says "Okay" and walks back over to Bob. (10 seconds later)
She says "so the radiator was full?"
Al says " I don't know I haven't checked it yet"

Some days Sheri is not sure which end is up...
