This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

"Al" is sleeping in late these days
Nothing to get up for, this was not Bob's way

But when Sheri gets home from work
"Al" follows her, around every corner there "they" lurk

"what should I do now" they ask
Sheri trys to think of something from Bob's past

But the things "they" used to do so well
"They" can not do, but Sheri does not want to tell

"Well you can help me do this or that"
but Sheri really wants to just sit and chat

But that has really never been Bob's thing
And what is with  this constant whistling....?

"Just give me a few minutes to relax"
She says, but before she knows it "Al" is back in bed.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10)
