This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

In Sheri's endless pursuit of things for
Bob and "Al" to do,
Bird watching seems to be going fairly well
Sheri remembered that they had a book
called Birds of America
A very old book that belonged to Bob's Mom.
She thought Bob might enjoy looking
up the birds...
Unfortunately, "Al" says the books pages are not in order
and the index is wrong... so he is frustrated he
can't find the Woodpecker picture or any other bird he is looking up.
Sheri checked and was a little surprised to find yes...user error.
It is so sad , the man that read blue-prints for a living can no longer use an index of a book..
Sheri hates Alzheimer's disease.

  1. Sheri, I have been reading a little (a very little) about AD,and Dementia and acupuncture. Have you done a google search on this? I was reading another blog and saw where her mom is having acupuncture for dementia and it is helping her memory. If you want to email me feel free to do so. Blessings, Karen
