This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Sheri is worried about
all of lifes changes her family is about to go through
Daughter number 2 turning 18 next week and going off to college
This means less people to be around to
to keep an eye out on Bob and "Al"
Not to mention the confusion change brings to "them".
It does not take much for "them" to lose track of the present.
Sheri is trying to take opportunities to enjoy life
no matter how small and silly it may seem.
Bird watching with Bob and "Al" has become a daily
ritual...it meets all of Sheri's criteria for "them"
Do it from home, sitting down,  in the garden...
makes for a lovely evening...
"Life thru the fence post " as I call it.   :)

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"

Matthew 6:25-27 New International Version

  1. Praying that the changes are easier than you are anticipating. Bird watching is good! Great post today....reminds me of a song we sang in church when I was a kid. Hugs, Karen
