This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

So the family decides to go to Old Counrty Buffet
in Maple Grove for Fathers Day.
Bob's favorite place to eat
(Mainly because of all the desserts he can eat.)
Silly Sheri takes a wrong turn and suddenly
the "fam" is on a road trip.
(They just "love" road trips)
"Where are we going?" Bob says.
Well we were headed to take you to Old Counrty Buffet
for Fathers Day.
"Oh I didn't know that" Al says
"Well" Sheri says "we missed a turn a while back"
"Oh well head this way it will take us there " Bob says.
10 minutes or so goes by as Sheri is looking for familar territory
"Oh this road will take us home " Bob says with excitment
"Well " Sheri says" we were  trying to get to
Old Counrty Buffet to take you to lunch for Fathers Day."
"Oh I didn't know that" says Al
45 minutes later we find the buffet and  Bob and Al  have a meal and at least 4 desserts.
We get home and about 1/2 hour  later and Bob is opening the fridge to put something
away.... Al hesitates and says" did we eat today?"
Playing around Sheri says
"Well we were gonna take you to Old Country Buffet for Father's Day"
Al says..Oh I didn't know that, thats okay I am not that hungry anyway...  :)

Oh well, what is a person to do?
