Sheri is hearing stories now
she never heard before
Or shall she say the settings right
the players, not so much anymore...
Bob life experiences are fading fast
As "Al" scratches his head as he recalls the past
Sheri nods and the girls they wink
As Bob says again "now let me think"
"That was with so and so "
"we were ... well ..wait..."
The tangled thoughts
of his life dangle loosely
as if suspended in space.
"Al" tells a friend he "drove truck over the road"
Well, close Sheri thought
(Now Sheri's scratching her head.)
She knows this is the process
She knows this is the way
It is just hard to see his past slipping away...
Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.
