This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Last night Sheri and the family
went to a very nice dinner at church
Bob had a salad, beef, bake potato,
green beans and a chocolate dessert.

Bob was silent through most of the dinner
he as never done well in social situations
Sheri always feels bad for the folks
Sitting next him at these big round tables
She always feel the tension because he doesn't talk

They got home changed into their bed clothes.
They sat down together to watch  "House"
As soon as they got comfortable
"Al"  turns to Sheri with a puzzled look on his face
and says "Did we eat today?"

Up until that moment in the evening
Sheri had almost
Forgotten about "Al" she thought he was with
her at dinner... but apparently not.  :(
