This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Never a dull moment in this household
Tuesday was surgery day for Bob and "Al"
Sheri woke up to a slight problem
No heat, no hot water and the downstairs freezer...melting
Sheri investigated but to no avail, she was gonna have to ask..."them"
So they all went to the hardware store at 7:00am,
after all they did not need to be at the surgery center until 12:00 noon
So" they" "with a little help from the helpful hardware man" replaced the circuit breaker, all is well.
Surgery went fine, a little bigger tear than they expected but it went well
Next morning "they" get out of bed, took a few steps to the bathroom
with "their" crutches and boom...Bob falls to the ground and passes
out for a few seconds. "They" were dizzy but did not mention it to Sheri
Until it was too late.
Sheri and daughter number 2 are left to figure out
how to get 6'4 Bob back up off the floor
It is gonna be a long week :)
