This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al :)

Sheri is elated
In fact she is quite renewed
She finely found somthing simple
For Bob and Al to do!

She has been looking now for several years
for something to pass the time
See Al can't work
And Bob can't drive
He is upset he can't earn a dime.

But Sheri is very crafty
and has been trying very hard to find
something for Bob and Al to make
 To help occupy "their" mind

So "they" have been making push pins
Yes, push pins night and day
bright and cheery push pins
Quite alot of push pins.......
She guesses she would have to say.....

Sheri thought that this would
take "them "quite a while...
very big hands with little parts
(Sheri had to smile)

But "they" must have been
"in the groove with glue today"
and she was surprised to find
 they now have about......

500 PUSH PINS

But she really doesn't mind....

Cause Bob and Al
said they felt great today
no pain to be found
the time went by so quickly
And "they" did it all sitting down!

Now what to do with 500 push pins...
That question still remains....
But Bob and Al are happy
And Sheri can stay sane!

Mission accomplished!
Well for now :)
