This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob and Al are feeling swell....
Except, Al can't remember just when Bob fell

Sheri knew this morning when she left for work
the garbage can had a date with the curb

But in a hurry and cold outside
Sheri saw the can...But drove right by...

She came home for lunch
And saw that the can,
had sprouted wings
(Well she hoped it had...)

Then at dinner, out the window
she saw the can
 and looked for the wings
that carried it there

Then acting on a hunch
she turned to Bob and asked
"did you fall today, on the ice , with the can?"

Then Bob said "yes" and Sheri said
"Oh no,what did you hit"
And then Al and Bob looked at Sheri  and said
"Oh  I just hit the street....."     :)
