Sheri is thinking back now
to the many lists of things
written on lots of index cards
In Bob's pocket he would bring
In later days we would see him
sitting on the bed
Sorting throught the index cards
Planning in his head
But "They" would sit for several
Hours moving them around
Starting over and over again
and never make a sound
His routines of life had been broken
though Sheri did not understand
that Al was changing the order
changing all Bob's plans
Today the index cards are there
But without much on the list
They say, Remember to turn the stove off
and don't forget to rest....
Psalm 119:28
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word
This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Sheri, I'm a friend of Vicki's and she shared your blog with me. Your story is so very sad. However, your talent for sharing it is amazing. I'm sure it will help many who are caring for someone with Alzheimer's. Bless you. Kim
