This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

There is this looming sense of sadness
That follows us everywhere "we" go
For in the shadows stands
the person Bob, that everbody knows

And in the shadow though Bob is still
close enough to see
Bob is not quite close enough
to know the pain Al causes "we..."

For even though the shadow has
not yet disappeared
It is the pain of total darkness
we know will be , in the coming years....

Psalm 30:5
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning"

  2. Hi Sheri, coming to you by way of Vicki's Facebook post. Your blog is sweet, poignant, humorous, and the story that is being revealed is very compelling. You're giving a really unique insight into sharing life with a loved one with dementia. I admire your talent at expressing yourself and your willingness to share. Best to both you and Bob. I'll be back again for another visit soon...
