This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living without Bob and "Al"

Sheri is realizing that she has trouble making conversation. Her small talk always revolved around Bob and "Al". She knows nothing really about current events, sports, or politics. It is like she needs a class on how to live life.
Sheri needs to pause, praise and pray.

  2. I feel the same about myself. My husband and his needs dominate my thoughts and drive everything I do. You have been a wonderful and caring wife. Give yourself time to find your way in this new world. Sending you good thoughts.

  4. You lost your sense of purpose. Give yourself time. This has been a long road for you. A LONG ROAD. Try to use your photography skills perhaps. Or just binge watch a favorite show. You are alive.
