This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

With all do respect for the caregivers working in facilities, Sheri thanks you from the bottom of her heart, she know this is not your fault, and many of you have a deep love for caring for our loved ones. She is learning however,  that "Memory care" can be a loose term. Sheri needs to think about solutions and help advocate for better staffing, better pay and better dementia training for caregivers, along with better communication to families. It takes a village to care for an Alzheimer victim. Sheri needs to pause, praise and pray.
