This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri is trying to remember that Bob is going continue decline, regardless of where he is. "Al" is obsessively picking at his skin causing much damage. The nurse called yesterday for permission to purchase Gerri sleeves (that insurance won't cover) to see if that will help. Sheri's frustration is that his hands need to be kept busy all the time. She knows it is unrealistic to think they can do for him what She was doing for him... but none the less as a problem solver it feels like failure.
Sheri promised to be honest... so there you have it.

  1. It has been quite a while since I visited your blog. I send you hugs and prayers as you continue your walk on this difficult journey.

My mom has been gone since Jun 2007. It is still hard. Recovering my health is an ongoing journey.
