This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri went to see "the boys" yesterday. One of the aids was telling her that Bob had recently been speaking about his wife named Sheri, explaining how they met and about their children. Sheri was pleasantly surprised by that and approached Bob with open arms for a much needed hug, but "Al" just moved out of the way. Bob lives in the moment... and the moment had passed.

  1. I hate this disease and I so eagerly await the day when all is healed and redeemed in Heaven. Hugs to you my friend from Toronto.
