This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri turns 60 today. Sheri was thinking about Bobs 60th birthday and that "Al" was already invading Bob's mind at that point. A silent presence that not even he new about.
Sheri hates this disease.

  1. Happy Birthday Sheri! I hope you have a special day, or try too. I hate the disease as well. Hopefully a breakthrough or cure will occur in the future.

  3. Tired this evening. 7 years of caregiving. Spouse now in memory care last 7 months. Lots of family verbal support but not much actual help.
