This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri trying not to just sit around the apartment after work. She has been struggling with feeling like she can't start anything, like she thinks Bob and "Al" are still home with her and she has to be prepared and on guard all the time. She knows all of this may sound bizarre to anyone who has not dealt with this wretched disease, but her mind has been preoccupied for so long with keeping Bob safe and "Al" occupied...she just hasn't quite moved past it yet. So Sheri has been at least trying to do some photography even just indoor stuff when she is too tired from work to do much else. It does bring her joy.

Yours may or may not be the best step, but it's a step, none-the-less. There must be more.
