This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri has really wanted to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather , but Sir Cooper has not been up to walks and she hates leaving him at home. So yesterday Sheri put Sir Cooper in an over the shoulder pouch thingy designed for small dogs and grabbed her camera and went for a walk with Sir Cooper on her hip. She did a mile and a half, and between her camera bag and Sir Cooper she hopes she burned off a few calories lol. Sheri was not able to take long walks like this with "the boys" because Bob's back and knees were so bad.  Sheri's trying hard not to feel guilty about doing things with out them. She is grateful for being able to capture Gods beauty in nature through the lens without having to keep the other eye on "Al". She is enjoying this time... and it is okay.  :)
